Looks like June

No, not literally....it just looks like we'll be going to school until June as today is yet another snow day! I was hoping that I'd be able to take the rest of the year off after baby is born, but who knows at this point! Regardless, we still made the most of the day and enjoyed homemade pancakes by daddy (and his helper Payton), catching up on laundry (always a good time) and a little bit of napping!

Progress

Thank goodness for 3-day weekends (and a hardworking husband). Russ was able to start and finish painting baby Kale's room this weekend. We don't have the bedding done yet (had to have it made) but will post pictures when it is done! As you can tell, we are going with the MU Tigers colors....wonder who chose that theme??? :) We also decided that it would be beneficial to finish off the basement (why not, right), so as I am typing this Russ is working hard to organize/clean downstairs in order for them to start framing it in this weekend!! Wow....lots going on here at the McDaniels' household....never a dull moment:)

We received this nice, hand sewn quilt from Great Grandma Smith in the mail today....homemade gifts are the best! Thanks Grandma Smith!

Update on baby #2

I have neglected to update this blog on the progress of baby #2...sorry readers! I went this past Tuesday for my check-up (which started the bi-monthly check-up visits...ALREADY!!) where I was told (hold your breath) that this baby is measuring big too!! GO FIGURE! For most of you who read this you have met and know my husband quite well and can understand why this news doesn't come as a shock to us. Also, if you recall, Payton was 9 lb. 5 1/2 oz. when she was born so needless to say we were more than prepared for this baby to be just as large. On a more important note, however, the heartbeat and growth appear to be healthy for both baby and I.....which is all I can ask for!

We hope to get the painting in his room started this weekend - look for some pictures soon!

Daddy and me time

Russ had a night free of Park Hill South athletics recently so he got to help Payton at her weekly gymnastics class. Of course it worked out perfectly as that evening they had a sports theme...just in time for the Super Bowl!

Just call me....

Payton's new favorite phrase is "Just call me...." and she fills in the last word with Cinderella or Snow White or Doctor Dora (after having visited the doctor a few times with mommy recently). She has such a growing imagination, in fact, another favorite of hers right now is making up "Once upon a time" stories at bedtime. I wish I could record those and share them with you.....might be something that we work on to get posted here!

Potty Trained

Not to jinx it but I BELIEVE WE HAVE A POTTY TRAINED LITTLE GIRL! Yipee! She does a great job and has even been keeping herself dry at night :) Hopefully we'll save a little money on diapers before the next one arrives :)
