Kale had his 4 month appointment this past week (and big sister had her 3 year appt). The doctor suggested we start rice cereal and progress up to starting vegetables! He took to the spoon and cereal very quickly - he's always been a big eater! They grow so quickly!

Big girls don't cry

She did great! It has been a challenge to get up and out the door by 6:30 (no child should have to get out of bed that early) but we've made it through one week so far! She was fearless the first day, but the second and third proved to be harder to let go in the morning.....let's just say neither one of us had dry eyes while departing each other:( Beyond that though, the teachers report that she is a good participant and very helpful.

New beginnings

Tomorrow Payton starts preschool, and although I am ecstatic about it for her I have to admit I am feeling a bit of sadness too....selfishly. Granted this school will provide her with the opportunities I have been longing for her to have, I still can't help but think........HOW DID SHE GET TO BE THREE YEARS OLD SO QUICKLY? Here I sit typing wondering if she'll sleep well tonight (I'm the one who probably won't get any sleep), if she'll cry or jump for joy when I drop her off in the morning, if she'll take a good nap at school and eat all the food that is put in front of her. I just can't wait to pick her up tomorrow afternoon and hear all about her day.....and to kiss her little face again! Of course I'll take her picture in the morning (hopefully I can coherse her to change out of her pajamas for school - we've had a lazy summer) and share! Wish us luck!

Growing like a weed

Kale started to turn over this past week! He is 15 weeks old and is close to 17 pounds, so you know it takes a lot of effort to get that body to roll over! Since his new discovery of this ability, he has also discovered that he likes to sleep on his stomach.....which adds another item to mom's worry list (not that I needed one more item). He seems content and that is what is important! He is looking more and more like his daddy - can't wait to see how much he changes in this next month!

Livin' the dream

On Payton's birthday she wanted to stay in her pajamas all day (truth be told, we didn't argue it because we, too, wanted to be this relaxed as it was our last day before school started), watch The Lion King on repeat and play outside on her new slip n' slide! We enjoyed letting her be in control for a day (okay, she's in control everyday but who's counting) and look forward to several more birthday's to celebrate with Miss P!
