Charm of the Farm

I got to experience Payton's first field trip from school with her today! She and her classmates toured the Red Barn Farm in Weston, Missouri today - on a beautiful day too I might add! It was great to see her amongst her friends and to see her interact with them. The one and only downfall of the day was the tour guide.....I don't think she'd EVER worked with preschoolers before :) Enough said!

Overdue

Obviously this is dated 8-17-10, but the date does not matter - its what's written that does!

Kale is fighting a nasty cold and finally got comfortable enough to catch a little snooze (or his sister's bike ride experience wore him out too)!

Patience is a virtue

Yes, we know it's a boy's bike, but it was free!

She did it!

Today Payton tried her hand-me-down bike out for the first time. Didn't....go.....so....well! She fell on her first try (daddy quickly learned to keep his hands ON her while she tried to pedal), cried and said - through a river of tears - "I'm done. I don't want to try anymore!" As seen in the picture above, she clearly was traumatized by the situation, but we made her get up on there and try again. She did and it was a success......for the whole 3 minutes she tried! Then, she was officially done - until next time :)

Done and done

The basement is finally completed and we are thoroughly enjoying it! Thanks to all the men (especially Russell) for all of their hard work! Come on over and enjoy it with us sometime!
