As I started to skim through the October issue of Parents magazine (which keeps prompting me to "order now and save on the next 2 years" - I figure if I wait long enough it might be free??:)), I stopped to read the Editor's letter. I stopped to read it because there was the cutest picture of her two sons taking a bath - in the sink - one on each side of the sink. She writes about an article in the issue that talks about the well-worn phrase "kids grow up so fast" and how this picture was taken of her boys' "final double bath" as they were soon too big to fit in their respective sides of the kitchen sink. She goes on, "there are so many powerful little milestones that sneak up on you and often you don't realize you have encountered one until it is taking your breath away." At the end she encourages all to "pull out your camera now, before the moments pass." Well, if only I had my camera with me at each moment my breath is taken away. I did catch a few of Kale this afternoon while Payton was napping at grandpa and grandma McD's during her regular Wednesday visit. And tonight as I put her to bed, I took a mental snapshot of her beauty and innocence while reading her book and asking me to stay "and count to three on your forehead mommy." There certainly are tons of little, big moments that slip by so fast sometimes we don't even know we're missing them.
